spontaneous writing challenge - update

I know a few of you are taking part, and I can't wait to see what's been written!

Turns out I had to work today (Sunday, ugh) so I still need to get an ending attached to my fic, so I'm allowing myself a cheat and an additional 24 hours just to get the last few paragraphs sorted out :p

spontaneous writing challenge

Hi all! I'm not sure how many people are still watching this community, but I thought it might be fun to try a little spontaneous bsc writing challenge. I know a few of us are signed up to Yuletide, so maybe this is a chance to run a heat before the final? Or just a chance to participate in something for the hell of it.

I thought I'd give myself a week from now to try and complete another square on my

babysitters100 table. Just something simple -- the minimum for the community is 200 words, so maybe a double drabble, or a ficlet of 500 words or so.

Does anyone want to join in? One week's deadline (let's make it midnight on Sunday November 18, wherever you are) to get something written. Aiming for something around 500 words, though that's not a maximum or minimum limit, just something to aim for if you need a goal of some kind.

Well, guys, it's been awhile since our last Works in Progress post, but, with the influx of activity the BSC discord has had lately and the plotting discussions that have been going on within it, we have gained one new member (everyone welcome

scarletcorvid via the BSC discord server) and some renewed fic-writing interest has occurred. So, I though that it was a good time to reinstate semi-regular Works in Progress posts. I've missed the good dialogue that they have produced in the past between us and I wanted to highlight the existence of the comm as a resource to both new members and old.

So, what is everyone working on?

What has been the easiest prompt to fill on your table thus far? What prompt do you think will be the hardest to fill? Is there a prompt you thought would go one way but took a surprising turn?

What characters come easiest to you fic-writing wise? What characters are the hardest for you to write? Is there anything that surprises you about this?

What are your goals for 2018 fic wise? (Can be comm specific or general)

Are there any passages for your upcoming or WIPs that you would like to share with the comm?

These questions are simply guidelines, you may utilize this WIP post as you see fit.

Hey guys! I thought we could all use a little fic-jolt to maybe get things moving, so I'm posting a prompt fest!

• Prompt as many times as you like, but only post one prompt per comment.
• Any characters within the BSC 'verse are fair game, as are crossovers/fusions/AUs/whatever
• You can fill any prompt, including your own
• If a prompt has been filled, it doesn't mean it's off the table - fill it again!
• Be as specific or as vague as you want/need to be in your prompt - if you only want a g-rated gen fic, say so. If you don't care, leave it open and the writer can assume you're cool with whatever they'll put forth.
• Warn for high ratings/adult content/triggers etc, both in the request and in the fill, if need be.
• Feel free to use prompts/fills as the solution to other challenges around the place, such as

HEY GUYS

I've got a little plot bunny nibbling at my brain, but I wanted to ask, before I start to develop it any further - what info do we have on the extended family members in the BSC 'verse?

I'm particularly interested in the Pikes right now, but I'm happy to take information on ANY of the families. I want to know about grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Where do they live, what are their names, are they still alive/when did they die?

Even if you think it should be obvious that I know, feel free to list it here for others who might want it for future reference.

thomas sibling birthdays?

Aside from Kristy, do any of the Thomas kids have canon birthdays? I wasn't thinking they did, but I just got an idea for a one-shot that involves David Michael and Sam both having birthdays around Thanksgiving. (Don't ask.) But I can modify if I need to.
